Bryan Treen and Connie Treen

photography by Bryan Treen

Artist Statement:

I am "amazed at the natural beauty here every single day. This might explain my enjoyment of landscape photography. I especially like to take my time capturing images using a "4 x 5" view camera, but also enjoy the benefits of digital photography. I mostly shoot large format and medium format film and I carry a digital camera wherever I go."

"Morrison Marsh, late winter" painting by Connie Treen

Artist Statement:

"To see a world...."

My creative process is driven by the possibility of relationship.
I work and wait.  And work and wait.  But It always happens. The epiphany.  Time stops.
The completed work assumes an identity and calls my name.
She asks me to stop.  ...to recognize and honour the separateness of the art and the artist. ....
For a fleeting time, I experience the purity - the profound sense of being in the presence of an 'other.'
... and then I turn back to work ....
"To see a world...."     I travel…
