"Marc and I came to Denman Island to further explore our artistic pursuits. We wanted a place that would be conducive with what we were trying to express in our art work. A place of peace and tranquility. We both approach our work from a spiritual aspect.
My shrines - both indoor ones and outdoor garden shrines - reflect serenity of the mind, body, and spirit. Each shrine reflects a theme of sorts using symbolic color, universal symbols and shapes to create a feeling of harmony, tranquility and peace. We have a woodland walk that has shrines placed in natural settings where one can simply "sit and see what happens."
Marc's hand-made books and journals are also an extension of his spirituality. Each book is made with hand-made papers and is imbued with the serenity that comes with creating a special gem that someone will resonate with and write, draw or paint their special thoughts and memories in.
All our works are interactive and we do not consider them finished until they have found a special place in someones home and heart." - John Tallerino
