Mary Hicks has been an artist for over 25 years in a variety of mediums: oil pastels, chalk pastels, oil paints, photography, and most recently metal (copper, iron, brass). She has worked solely in the area of sculpture the past few years in order to pursue an interest in working with metal.
Currently she is producing large-scale mixed media pieces that incorporate willow, bamboo, arbutus, woven and hammered copper, woven photographs, mixed media and collage. She is enjoying the exploration of depth, shapes, and texture that metal provides and the study of various metal techniques.
